Three fantastic historical shops in Genoa to visit!

GIACOLONE ANTIQUE BARBER SHOP

This incredible Barberia, in the heart of Genoa, has a special charm and walking into it seems like a real step back in time, taking us back to the atmosphere of the Belle Époque.

After a short closure, it was restored and reopened in 1992 by FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano. The atmosphere is bright and the dazzling colours of emerald green, cobalt blue and golden yellow make this place unique and special.

PESCETTO CLOTHING

The shop, in the centre of medieval Genoa,is opened from 1922 and since then has always maintained a great reputation and prestige.

Today the shop is run by the Mario Pescetto’s sons, the founder, who proudly and tenaciously carry on the family tradition of seeking a sober, classic and elegant modernity in clothing. The deco-style furnishings are made of teak wood and the drawers are lined with parchment.

MARESCOTTI CONFECTIONERY AND LIQUOR STORE

Founded in Genoa in 1780, under the name of Cioccolateria Cassottana, it was renamed Marescotti in 1906. Thanks to the fusion with the Savoy court, the shop achieved considerable fame.

The shop is decorated with fine furnishings such as brass, marble and crystal display cases, making this space a real historical spot that should be visited at least once in a lifetime.
